Why? Pauper CMDR, 100 cards, one uncommon Commander and all Commons was too slow.
This variant makes for a lot of casual fun.
It requires a Legendary Creature of any rarity or a Planeswalker to be the Commander.
Commanders start in the Command Zone.
Each additional time the Commander is cast from the Command Zone it costs 2 additional mana.
One can choose whether or not a Commander goes into the graveyard or if the Commander
goes into anywhere in the Library.
goes into anywhere in the Library.
A player may only have 1 Commander.
The deck does not use Commander Damage.
Damage is damage.
Commander damage counts only counts for regular damage.
There is no magic number of Commander damage that results in a win.
Instead of formats like Standard that use 20 damage, or Commander that uses 40 damage,
this format starts with 30 damage in order to score a win.

There are other win schemes than scoring 30 damage to win. For example, cards that can help
life gain, or alternate schemes such as poison counters are 2 other ways of winning. .

Instead of a 60 or 100 card deck, it is a hybrid that takes only 80 cards.
Other than Basic Lands, every other card in this format, except the Commander must only have
1 copy, as is the case with the original Commander Format.

One can use as much basic land as is desired, provided that the deck is only 80 cards.
This new variant by my son Alex and I, relies mostly on common and uncommon cards,
such that it isn’t as expensive as expensive as many other decks.

Banned cards follow the Commander format banned card list.
If a card is available as a common or uncommon at anytime in history, it can be used.
